Applicant must be Kent State University students or alumni but can be from any major.
Films must have been produced after the August 1st, 2017.
Any genre is welcome.
All crew members must be over the age of 18, and parental permission forms for actors under the age of 18 must be on file.
Films in a foreign language must include English subtitles. Closed captioning for all English films is highly recommended.
Submissions longer than 20 minutes may be subject to rejection but will still be reviewed.
Submission Deadlines and Fees
There is no submission fee, however, every audience member must purchase a ticket.
Films must be submitted by 11 pm EST on April 19th, 2019.
Submissions are accepted in the form of .mp4 or online viewing link at HD quality or above. If accepted, online films must be re-submitted in .mp4 format by April 26th, 2019.

KSUIF is not obligated to accept all submissions or disclose reasoning for non-acceptance.
Final decisions will be made by KSUIF board members, Kent State faculty, and select film professionals.
KSUIF holds the rights to reject films not following the guidelines outlined in this form, regardless of content or quality.
Applicants will be notified of acceptance by 11 pm EST on April 24th, 2019.
Categories of awards may include the following and are subject to change:
-Best Sound Design
-Best Production Design
-Best Social Commentary
Winners will receive physical awards and publication on all KSUIF platforms.
Winners do not have to be present to accept awards.
Films must be wholly original or must hold ownership/permission of non-public domain content, including music. Public domain content must be identified and credited.
Films or the filmmaking process must not violate state, government, or university laws.
Films must not defame individuals or encourage violence.
Applicants must have full consent to submit the film from the filmmakers and actors.
KSUIF has permission to screen accepted films and use stills or clips for promotional material. Once accepted, applicants cannot withdraw their submissions.
Filmmakers keep all ownership of Intellectual Property related to their submission.
Sending entries implies compliance to the above rules and regulations.
