The KSUIF Difference
Here at Kent State University Independent Films, we give students the ability to turn a script into a fully funded production! Through fundraising and help from the university, we are able to give up to $800 towards a project that you pitch for KSUIF.
Whether it is a script for your senior project, something to use for your demo reel, or a project that gives you the chance to direct your own short film, KSUIF is here to help!
We accept scripts of any narrative genre, documentary treatments, promotional or commercial video ideas, or TV/web series pilots. To ensure that we can create as many projects as possible during the school year, we have a limit on only the length of scripts we review for selection. Show pilots are also under this limit.
Our requirements for pitching a project to KSUIF are as follows:
- Must be a student at Kent State, but can be enrolled in any major.
- Must fill out a Project Pitch Form.
- Must have a finished script with the ability to edit as needed.
- Scripts must be no longer than 15 pages.
Below is a link to a project pitch form, fill out this document and email it with your finished script to firstname.lastname@example.org or turn it into a KSUIF board member in person! We are located in Franklin Hall Room 221A, and our office hours are 10am-5pm Monday thru Friday.
